Greetings From the Editor!
Welcome to the inaugural edition of:
The Society Pages of Richmond and the D.M.V. This monthly online digital website is about:
The People
The Happenings
The Galas…The Balls…The Gowns
Local Places to stay…Places to Dine
Influential People…History Makers
Weddings…Anniversaries
Lifestyles
Who’s Who
The Museums
And much…much…more!
Although Iam originally from Richmond, Virginia, however, I have lived all throughout the D.M.V.
Just a little-known history fact: The first true society page in the U.S. was created by James Gordon Bennett, Sr., for The New York Herald in the 1840s. Others soon appeared, such as those in The Pittsburg Press (1920s), The San Francisco (1880s), and The Des Moines Register (1930s). Society pages have thus existed for decades.
The Society Pages of Richmond & The D.M.V. is unique! Partnerships with local businesses, schools, museums, organizations, and community members ensure ongoing communication, updates, and engagement.
We will also solicit information from you via surveys and occasional polls to ask you, the viewer, what other content you would like to see from us in future postings. We invite you to share your ideas…your stories, and your announcements. With us, this way, we are ALL informed!
Lastly, together we can make this one of the most exciting and informative society pages and websites ever. Happy viewing, stay engaged…stay informed!
Warmest regards,
Cynthia (Cee) Marshall
